 Great for my feet, 2010-04-07
I accidentally discovered that AZO Yeast will clear up my stubborn athlete's foot. I bought a bottle of this years ago for the more traditional purpose and used it in conjunction with an OTC cream and then for awhile to prevent re-infection, and I was very satisfied with the product. I recently found about a dozen tablets left in the bottle, about to expire. I began taking one a day, just to use them up, as a preventative measure even though I hadn't had a vaginal yeast infection in years. Lo and behold, my feet stopped itching, and the skin began looking better. I assumed my butenafine hydrochloride cream had started to work. A dozen days passed, I finished up the pills, and then my athlete's foot returned! Arrgh! But I made the connection, did a little research, and discovered that athlete's foot can indeed by caused by a yeast fungus rather than a dermatophyte, and in that case, the OTC creams won't work. But these pills do! I've begun to take two a day and my feet are much better once again. In a week or so, I'll taper off to one a day and do that for as long as necessary. Great product!

I used this product, then read the reviews on it, then waited around all day for the supposedly terrible reaction that occurs. Mostly everybody else must have some kind of allergic reaction or something to the amount of medicine. I don't know but it worked fine for me. I gave it a 4 star because despite claiming it can be used during the day, it still came out.

I love the efficacy of this product but I think I'll stick with the Monistat 1 from now on. I don't like the extended treatments. I like something that works quickly but just as effectively and Monistat 1 is exactly that. Believe it or not, this works well on the scalp as a dandruff inhibitor as well, keeping the itchies away.

My son has used this to rid himself of candida, and I have recently begun to use it as well. It has significantly brought down our arabinose numbers on tests, and we continue to use it to keep our intestinal flora balance in check. I want to present that if there is a reaction from killing off yeast, it is not necessarily a bad thing--something to check with your doctor (who is hopefully testing to see how your body is handling treatment)--but not necessarily bad. It is more likely than not that die-off (Herxheimer's) is occurring where with microbial death there is an off-gassing that is nothing short of painful, and sometimes toxic to the point of causing diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. I went to several doctors and had numerous tests for aching lymph nodes and severe fatigue over a one and a half year period. I was told I potentially had MS, a brain tumor, or lymphoma based upon the results of my CT scans and blood tests and ended up having a spinal tap and suffering a spinal leak (very painful). I was ultimately told it was most likely a virus affecting my immune system, which may or may not eventually go away. After getting no relief or answers, my wife happened upon this product searching the internet for a solution. After suffering for so long, I was willing to try anything, yet remained very skeptical. This product worked almost immediately and really helped me. My lymph nodes no longer hurt, and I am essentially back to normal. I still need to watch my sugar intake, but Fivelac keeps me on track. I have never given a product a review, but felt compelled to do so based upon all the suffering I experienced which was clearly needless. I'm not saying it is a cure-all, but it really helped my symptoms and helped me return to a normal life.
