Although there are other AED'S on the market, this is in my opinion the easiest and least expensive device to do the job. Highly recommend!

This long life lithium battery lasts approximately 4 years, does not require recharging, and can be easily installed in HeartStart by popping it in the back panel. The "Install by" date is printed on the battery for easy reference. Because HeartStart runs daily self-tests, it will prompt you to replace the battery when necessary.

Like most others, I have have never had to use these, so I assume they wok, but just haen't had to use it yet.
One negative aspect which isn't really the batteries fault is that once the AED starts to beep due to a low battery, the only way I see to stop it is to remove the battery, which isn't a good design. The AED really needs a way to silence the beeping maybe a week so new batteries can be ordered. Having to remove the batteries from the AED is a bit stupid.
Oh, and my batteries only lasted 3.5 years and not the 4.0 years, a minor complaint.
