I need to use a prescription nasal spray too and the Claritin is a "booster" in the evening. It says "no drowsy" formula but I've learned to take it an hour before I go to sleep because it knocks me down and out for the night. My wife thinks it is because it alleviates a form of sleep apnea that she believes I have. I think there's something in the formula that allows be to sleep heavily without any hangover or other after effects in the morning. I'm not going to leave home without it nor am I going to take it before 9PM.

My shih-tzu has storm anxiety and one-half of these strips works wonders for him. It is easy to fold in half and melts immediately on his tongue.
The vet originally recommended that I give him half a dose of benadryl when we take him on the cabin in the airplane. They are hard to find and MUCH easier to use than the single-dose children's liquid benadryl. They don't put him to sleep, but do calm him down before and during a thunder storm.

This is a great alternative to the Neti Pot. I always found the Neti very difficult to use and would almost choke when using it. The New Neti Pot has revolutionized nasal washes. Very easy to use. Simple salt water works best. I did not like the Nasopure, it burned my nasal passage in a way salt water does not.
