I've never used an electric toothbrush before, but my dental hygienist strongly recommended it. This basic Sonicare, which I bought after a lot of research on the various Sonicare models, is perfect. Its footprint on the bathroom counter is small. It took no time at all to get used to. Letting the brush do the work (no scrubbing necessary) and angling the brush against the gums as illustrated in the instructions are key. The result is outstanding. The fact that it's also fun is an unexpected incentive to brush more regularly.

I've alway's used Sonicare...it's the perfect toothbrush and worth the money. I love this new version because you don't have to deal with the gunk that would build up in the older sonicares.

I've been using Sonicare toothbrushes for about 15 years. This is my third, and favorite by far! It is light, but not cheezy, and quite powerful. The charging post it sits on does not seem to be a problem. I am kind of a clod, and I haven't managed to knock it over yet! Very easy to keep clean, also. The extra clean feature does seem to work, I wish I had taken pictures to be sure. I bought this after a cleaning/checkup, where it was discovered I had three cavities! The first dental work I've had to have since I was 16! I attribute this to the fact that I killed my last Sonicare...was on vacation and forgot my charger...ran it out of battery and it wouldn't charge up again. I wasn't able to afford a new one at the time...so I ended up with cavities! I did use my boyfriend's Braun Oral B for awhile, but didn't care for it. It seemed way too mechanical to me, and not as effective. The main thing about the Sonicare is that it feels good, and encourages me to brush. My teeth feel so smooth and nice afterward, I feel like doing my own annoying Pearl Drops commercial! Got a great deal on Amazon as well, $89. I haven't seen it anywhere else for under $100.

They had a package deal where you get two complete tooth brushes with one charger for about 121.00. They have lasted well. I would check with your dentist to see what deals they may be able to offer first.
I just bought another set of replacement brush heads on Amazon for the first time since the prices are better here than in the stores. Wal-Mart wanted 26.00 or 27.00 for the same three head replacement brushes.I paid 44.26 for six brush heads including tax and free s& handling with Amazon. I saved at least 12.00 and have a 9 month supply!
I see here that you can get one tooth brush with six brushes for 124.00 and that is a pretty good deal if you don't need two tooth brushes.
This is a basic no frills electric tooth brush, not a lot of modes to press and no disinfecting unit. I like this model much better than a previous Essense brush heads which were not that sanitary, the way fluid would leak down into the head cover and was difficult to keep clean.

This brush is every bit as good as the more expensive FlexCare (which I have been using for the past 3 years)! I highly recommend this toothbrush! Also, Sonicare is very good about honoring their 2-year warranty as long as you keep your receipt.
