After a couple of years, my original cuff wore out and I started to get a lot of EE error readings. I have no idea why. I did not normally remove the cuff (and tube) from the base unit but found that I had to make sure it was tight to start with in order to get any reading. So, I purchased this replacement more than a year ago and have had no problems since.

I'm glad to finally find a pedometer that accurately records steps. Now my wife can get her " 10000" steps a day recorded properly. The only beef I have is that it is a bit hard to get a small object to press the setup buttons. I had to use several wooden toothpicks.

Smaller size does the trick, 2009-04-12
Being at the bottom range (9") of the standard size cuff (9-13") my wife could not get a consistent reading from her BP Monitor. Switching to the smaller cuff made a world of difference. Now her readings are consistent and match the readings taken by her physician.

This is an excellent overall pedometer, by far my favorite, with great ergonomic design features. First it has a large very easy to read LCD display. Second it is just the right size, not too big, not too small, and the LCD display takes up most of the front. The clip works well or you can use the optional cord for hanging on your neck or wrist.
In addition to the normal features of a pedometer, this includes a `work-out' mode that you can activate to start getting pace data. You have to, of course, take the unit from your waist (you are suppose to only have it on your waist when you are in workout mode), look at it, and then re-clip it. Honestly I am a walker not a runner but it has helped me know what my pace is. Ordinarily I just walk, but this has been useful for helping me set pace goals.
Finally the unit lets you input your weight and height and gives you a default stride length which you can then change. Given your weight it does give you an estimate of calories burned during your workout. But even if you don't do any `workouts' on a given day the unit is an excellent everyday pedometer for keeping track of your daily steps.
If you think you would use the pace feature I would definitely consider this unit. But even if you think you would not, it has a great easy to use display and is sized and shaped really well.
