Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Ultimate Edition) [Blu-ray]

  Rated: PG-13 (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Staring: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson
Director: Mike Newell
The latest entry in the Harry Potter saga could be retitled Fast Times at Hogwarts, where finding a date to the winter ball is nearly as terrifying as worrying about Lord Voldemort's return. Thus, the young wizards' entry into puberty (and discovery of the opposite sex) opens up a rich mining field to balance out the dark content in the fourth movie (and the stories are only going to get darker). Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral) handily takes the directing reins and eases his young cast through awkward growth spurts into true young actors. Harry (Daniel Radcliffe, more sure of himself) has his first girl crush on fellow student Cho Chang (Kat...

Now in his fourth year at school, Harry Potter (Dan Radcliffe) becomes unwittingly involved in the infamous "Tri-Wizard Tournament," wherein champions from Hogwarts and two visiting wizarding schools face frightening challenges in the hope of winning eternal glory. With help from his buddies Ron and Hermione, Harry battles dragons, survives underwater, and faces a terrifying maze. Equally scary for him: He must choose a date for the Yule Ball. He has his eyes on the lovely Cho Chang but is too shy to ask her. Lord Voldemort and his Deatheaters play a prominent part in this installment as Harry faces a life and death duel.

The movie is very well written and the acting is good, too. The three kids are now playing 14-year olds and are showing a greater range of emotions. There is much humor when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex, a talent the usually capable Harry seems to lack. Watching the three at the Yule Ball is sweet and awful, as these things tend to be at that age.

The soundtrack and special effects are wonderful as usual and the suspenseful story is acceptable and enjoyable for children over eight as well as older audiences. If you're a Potter fan, you're sure to enjoy "Goblet of Fire." This is the best of the series so far and definitely lives up to all expectations.

I had a friend who kept nagging me to watch this movie. I was assured that I would love it. Well, I started to watch it and the first couple of minutes seemed rather dull to me -- little did I know that this movie would turn out to be one of my alltime favorites.

I especially like such movies as "Tea With Mussolini", "Avalon" and "Room With a View". And, as much as I liked those, I like this one a hundred times more! Why? I'm not actually sure of the exact reason. I tend to think it appeals to a certain type of person.

I can say the actors are absolutely excellent, the scenery is beautiful, but I suppose it is the engaging storyline (that many women especially can relate to) that makes it particularly attractive to me. Also, the pace of the movie is appealing. That is an unusual reason I suppose, but the timing of the scenes is simply perfect.

Everyone who was involved with the project of making this movie should feel very proud of such a fine product (without hesitation I gave it five stars). I suppose the person who deserves the most praise would have to be the author of the book the movie was based on. In any case, I LOVE it, and many thanks to everyone who participated in the making of this fine movie.

This movie came under a lot nit-picking criticism due to the fact that it's a film adaptation of a video game. Track records for video game adaptations being as bad as they are, everyone, including myself, was prepared to hate this movie. I was totally surprised, i loved this movie.

The action scenes were engaging and fun to watch. The editing made it a little difficult to see what was happening at times, but for the most part it was easy to distinguish what was going on. Each action sequence was relevant to the story and came frequently enough to never let the viewer get bored, and not too frequently to detract from the plot or characters.

The characters were all likable and entertaining, if not entirely original. I was sad at the deaths of characters that were meant to sadden the viewers at their demise and was happy with the conclusion of the film. Without giving away any spoilers, i will say i usually hate when any medium of entertainment pulls a huge switch that effects so much of the plot as the one in here, but i actually enjoyed how it played out.

I recommend Prince of Persia to fans of the games along with fans of film

The champagne is flowingand so is the funin this "delightful and sly" (Roger Ebert) romantic comedy about two people who belong together but just can't seem to tie the knot. Ushering in two Academy AwardÂ(r) nominations*, and starring Hugh Grant (Notting Hill), Andie MacDowell (Michael) and a superb ensemble cast that includes OscarÂ(r) nominee** Kristin Scott Thomas, Four Weddings and a Funeral is truly "a very special occasion" (Rolling Stone)! Charlie (Grant) is always the best man but never the groom. Determined to avoid even a hint of commitment, this handsome English gentleman is notoriously late to every wedding. But today he's in for a real surprise because not...
