I've always been a long time fan of Alias Smith and Jones, but this one rates right up there with it and it's maybe even a teeny bit better. Season two is even better than season one. Perfectly cast and great story lines, too bad this show didn't last longer, it really wasn't given a fair chance.

A Show Surprisingly Full of Life!, 2010-07-21
I am a very late discoverer of this show. But upon discovering it a few days ago, I watched both seasons nonstop. Describing this show as a "feel good" experience seems like a very odd label, but in reality, nails what it is. This isn't your sentimental "Touched By an Angel" approach (which wasn't a bad show don't get me wrong :P) or your doom-and-gloom "The End is Neigh!" mentality. It is a show which illustrates how non-morbid the truth about death is. Watching this show brought the line that Maximus uttered in Gladiator to mind: "Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back." This is exactly what happens to George. She finally learns neither to woe her demise or be apathetic to it. You just have to smile back.

The Sum of Us (1994), 2010-07-05
This is one of the movie that always comes out when you speak of Gay Romance, I think more for the thrill to see Russel Crowe kissing a man than anything else, since the "romance" is not the main argument of the movie. This is a classical father and son movie, the usual hard work two men have to do to find a common path when your lifes are heading in different direction. The most interesting thing is that Harry, the father, is very supporting of his gay son Jeff, maybe even too much, so much to scare off any potential boyfriend.
There is a nice contrast in Jeff, so "macho man" in attitude and look, but then, deep inside, he is searching for Mr Right. He seems tired of superficial relationship and wants something stronger and good, something maybe that can replace the strong bond he has with his father.
Anyway, romance or not, it's a good movie, who preserves also the different taste of a movie made in a somewhat less glittering than USA country like Australia, and so the glitter doesn't distract you from the story.

I was well pleased with the product. My only complaint would be the fact that each disc came a dvd case of its own. Each disc was new, and each case had the proper case covering. Discs play great! I would recommend this seller. Plus, they sent me a free dvd with my purchase. The dvd was Stardust. Strange movie, and it made me laugh throughout even though it was not the intention of the film.

I just saw this show for the first time on Netflix a few weeks ago, and was instantly hooked. The dark humor drew me in unlike any other sit-com I've ever seen. I just had to have it. And at the price of less than $50 for 2 seasons and the movie, you really can't go wrong! I'm already watching it for the third time over from teh beginning again~ just can't get enough laughs from this!
