The second theatrical film from the popular television show is better than the original surprise hit. Instead of delving into their rich fantasy life, the Rugrats gang goes on a real adventure when their families visit Paris together. Mr. Pickles is brought over to fix his giant Reptar robot, the centerpiece of EuroReptarland (a biting version of the trouble-plagued EuroDisney). The underlying story has Chuckie (the one with the square glasses) looking for a new mommy, as his dad (who has a square personality) starts to fall for a villainous executive (voiced by Susan Sarandon). Soon Paris takes it on the chin as the diaper gang tries to save Chuckie's dad from the altar....

This three-volume set of six Simpsons episodes is more treat than trick, but a decidedly mixed bag. Anyone expecting a collection of just the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes will be disappointed. Volume 1, containing "Treehouse of Horror III" and "Treehouse of Horror V," delivers "the terror and foul horror" we've come to expect from these eagerly awaited annual Halloween broadcasts. "III" pays homage to the "Talky Tina" episode of The Twilight Zone (an evil Krusty doll tries to kill Homer), King Kong (Marge is the beauty who attracts giant beast Homer), and Night of the Living Dead (Bart unwittingly unleashes a reign of zombie terror). "V" is e...

An unusually moving, double-length episode begins things. "Mother's Day" is the episode where Chuckie learns where his own mother went and why, in a very special sense, she's still with him. In "Family Feud," Tommy's parents and Phil and Lil's parents argue, and the kids set out to fix things. Also on this tape is "Mommy's Little Assets." --Tom Keogh

In the hilarious "Hiccups," Tommy has the hiccups but is too scare-proof to be shocked out of them. Angelica, however, is happy to change that. In the funny but touching "Autumn Leaves," the Rugrats think that the impact of the fall season on trees must be a disease, and they set out to save a few. Also on this video are "Potty Training Spike," "Chicken Pops," and "Grandpa's Bad Bug." --Tom Keogh

When Great Aunt T (the voice of Irma P. Hall) comes to visit the Carmichaels, she brings the makings for a Kwanzaa celebration to commemorate Africa's first harvest and honor the greatness of its people. But little Susie worries that she's not "great" like her older trophy-winning siblings, and thus unworthy of celebrating. Of course, Aunt T and the babies set her straight in this double-length episode. Next, Angelica and Susie compete in a talent show for a trip to Cynthialand in "And the Winner Is." Conniving Angelica steals Susie's tap shoes so she'll be the shoe-in for the coveted prize. But Susie's unintentionally comic performance in her socks thwarts her f...

This fourth sequel in the series finds "leaf gobblers" eating all the vegetation in Great Valley, driving Littlefoot, the young brontosaurus, and the other dinosaur inhabitants out. Arguments break out among the adults during migration, and Littlefoot and his friends decide to take matters in their own hands by crossing the "big water" to an unknown island. There they meet an old friend from The Land Before Time II--Chomper, the T-rex, who has to protect the gang from his own, carnivorous parents. Plenty of drama in this one, and as the series has been wont to do from the beginning, it shows adults as sometimes being less than perfect. --Tom Keogh
