The delightful twins Phil and Lil are the stars of "Baby Commercial," in which they think they are ideally suited for roles in a television commercial--but the director might think otherwise. There's more Phil and Lil in "Twin's Pique," in which the duo decide to delineate their personalities more by inventing them. These supporting players in the Rugrats phenomenon deserve this release to themselves. --Tom Keogh

In this ninth installment in The Land Before Time series, a cast of spirited, young dinosaurs explores the familiar emotion of loneliness and the need to belong. Torrential rains have turned the Great Valley into an unfamiliar landscape, causing Littlefoot to feel lonely. "You are only as alone as you choose to be," his grandfather tells him. The flood has transported new swimming creatures into the valley, including a playful porpoise named Mo who quickly befriends Littlefoot. Yet Mo must return to his home in the Big Water and so, against parental wishes, Littlefoot and pals escort Mo on an adventurous journey back to the sea. Danger ensues, including "earthshake...

Scooby-Doo is making a big comeback with several helpings on TV and new videos. The series' writers are smart enough to mildly spoof themselves, and this movie opens with Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Frank, and Velma solving a crime that ends with the now-classic Scooby line, "It's... [insert some administrative minion/angry neighbor/disgruntled relative], only to have the criminal bleat, "And I would've gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you kids!" There they meet one of Velma's idols, fright-writer Ben Ravencroft (voiced by an effective Tim Curry). Smitten Velma and gang accept his invitation to his New England hometown festival. When one of Ravencroft's a...

This frantically energetic show from the hit animation series--certainly best appreciated by little kids who can keep up with it--focuses on Thanksgiving festivities at the Pickles house. Besides the usual holiday traditions of nonstop football on television and bickering, there's a problem when a real live turkey shows up at the door, and the kids conspire to keep it from ending up on the dinner table. If you can wire yourself to this highly charged program, there are good laughs and lessons in it for the whole family. --Tom Keogh
